Description

The South Central and South East Ambulance Group is pioneering the first ambulance group model in England. a transformative partnership between South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) and South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb). Together, we are reimagining what collaboration can achieve: a stronger, more resilient, and more innovative service delivering world-class care for 9.4 million people.

By combining expertise and resources, we will accelerate progress in digital innovation, clinical development, and workforce transformation, while maintaining the local identity and responsiveness of each Trust. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of urgent and emergency care across the South East and South Central regions of England and influence the national conversation on integrated care.

As Group Chief Executive, you will be the driving force behind this change. This is leadership with purpose – shaping a future where care is more responsive, equitable and sustainable. You will champion compassionate leadership, digital innovation, environmental responsibility, and health equality, ensuring every decision improves patient outcomes and experience.

You will provide visible, strategic leadership across both organisations, working with the Group Chair to harness each Trusts strengths, share innovation, and open opportunities for delivering our clinical and support services in the most effective and responsive way, for the benefit of the populations served. You will champion collaboration, inspire confidence, and ensure that our strategy delivers real improvements in patient outcomes and staff experience.

We are seeking a visionary leader with exceptional resilience, political acumen and the ability to inspire confidence across complex systems. You will bring significant Board-level experience, a proven track record of transformation at scale, and an unwavering commitment to compassion and inclusion. Above all, you will share our passion for improving health outcomes and supporting the people who deliver care.

If you share our ambition to set new standards for care and create an organisation where people thrive and patients receive the very best, we want to hear from you.

We have a diverse workforce and serve a diverse population. We particularly welcome applications from people who are currently underrepresented at Board level in the NHS.
